Chelela Nature Trek: 3 Days
Trek Effort: Easy, but still requires good fitness.
Maximum Altitude: 3700 meters.
Best Time to Visit: Between March-June or September- November.
Day 1: Paro to Chonana
The trek begins from Paro. It involves gradual climb up through pine forests and farms taking through the views of Paro valleys.
Day 2: Chonana to Domsela
Trek will continue with further gradual climb to Chelela pass (3700 m) through forests containing varied species of primula and rhododendron. (Chelela, a mountain peak at about 3,800 meters is the highest motorable pass in Bhutan.)
Day 3: Domsela to Kyichu, Paro
Trekking will descend through some dense forests and continue downhill till it comes to ending at Kyichu Lhakhang in Paro. Kyichu Lhakhang is one of the oldest temples in Bhutan. (Paro valley is one of the most fascinating valleys in Bhutan. A unique tourist destination of its own, Paro valley is home to many venerated monasteries, oldest temples, National Museum and Bhutan’s most impressive and well known Dzong in the country.)
